Announcing the Shewa Fano Symposium: June 2-3, 2024

NEWS RELEASE: (May 21, 2024) – The Shewa Society Association is proud to announce the organization of the Shewa Fano Symposium. Scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, June 1-2, 2024, this virtual event will take place across multiple online platforms including Twitter, Rumble, and Facebook, ensuring wide accessibility and participation.

The symposium is dedicated to enlightening the public about the Amhara Fano Shewa Province Command’s origins, ongoing activities, and the challenges it faces amidst external pressures to undermine unity among Shewa Fano forces. Through a series of panel discussions, interactive Q&A sessions, cultural presentations, and networking opportunities, the symposium will also counteract negative propaganda and misinformation campaigns against the Shewa Fano.

Panelists including Ato Teferi Cherinet, Lij Tedla Melaku, Ato Mengistu Asfaw, Ato Leyikun Kassahun, and Ato Youm Abiy Feseeha will lead discussions. These discussions are designed to clarify the role of Shewa Fano in defending against threats and to strategize multifaceted actions.

In addition to awareness creation, the symposium will feature a strategic fundraising initiative and membership recruitment for the Shewa Fano Support Network. On-symposium activities such as a virtual fundraising drive are planned to rally financial support for the cause.

The symposium is not just an event but a platform for dialogue, education, and collaboration aimed at strengthening the unity within the Shewa and the broader Amhara Fano movement. The Shewa Fano Symposium promises to be a landmark event in promoting unity and action.
