Silver Spring, Maryland – The Shewa Task Force successfully concluded a global telethon from April 10 – 14, 2024, to support the internally displaced populations in Ethiopia’s Shewa Province.
Located within Ethiopia’s Amhara region, Shewa Province has faced significant economic challenges amid the ongoing civil conflict that has affected the country over the last three years. Many residents from Addis Ababa and other areas have been displaced during this period.
In a similar context, recent conflicts in the Tigray region have led to severe humanitarian issues, as reported by the United States Department of State.
